While your Sonos devices will prompt you via the Sonos app when there is an update available for any of your devices, you also have the ability to have your devices automatically update themselves, or manually check for updates if you wish.
To Enable Automatic Updates
When automatic updates are enabled, your Sonos System will attempt to apply updates during the window of time you've selected. However, if your device is being used, if there is an alarm scheduled during this time, or if your device loses internet connectivity, the update will be postponed until the next available update window.
- Open the Sonos Controller App.
- Tap More to open the options menu.
- Select Settings.
- Select System Updates.
- Ensure the toggle for Automatic Updates is in the ON position.
- Select Scheduled to set when you want your speakers to be updated.
- Select the schedule when you would like to have your updates take place.Update schedules have the following approximate times:
- Morning: 5:00 AM - 7:00 AM
- Afternoon: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
- Evening: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
- Overnight: 2:00 AM - 4:00 AM
